    • A spinal stabilization system, apparatus, and method are disclosed which include an interconnection mechanism (80) for engaging stabilization members (12a, 12b, 14a, 14b) to one another. In one embodiment, the interconnection mechanism (80) comprises a locking member (80) having first and second threaded segments (82, 84). An anchor member (18, 18') is provided having an upper segment (44) and a lower segment (42), wherein the lower segment (42) is structurally configured for engagement with a respective bone segment. A first stabilization member (12a, 12b) is connected to the upper segment (44) of the anchor member (18, 18'). A locking member (80) is engaged with the anchor member (18, 18') such that the first stabilization member (12a, 12b) is fixedly secured to the anchor member (18, 18') by a lower portion (82) of the locking member (80) defining the first threaded segment (82). A second stabilization member (14a, 14b) is connected to an upper portion (84) of the locking member (80) by a cap (110) that is threaded onto the second threaded segment (84) of the locking member (80).

    • A connection system is provided that joins a revision fixation plate to a previously implanted skeletal fixation plate. In one form, the system allows the previously implanted plating system to be revised without disturbing the original implant components. In one aspect, the connection includes joining the revision fixation plate to a previously implanted fastener. In another aspect, the revision fixation plate is directly joined to a previously implanted fixation plate. In yet another aspect, the connection includes forming a dynamic relationship between the previously implanted plating system, the revision fixation plate, and the affected vertebrae. In one form, the dynamic relationship enables movement between the previously implanted plating system and the affected vertebrae and in another form, the dynamic relationship enables movement between the previously implanted plating system and the revision fixation plate.
