摘要： The invention relates to a method for the single-sided application or double-sided application of a fluid or a pasty application medium, by means of at least one machine comprising an application system, to the surface of a running web of material, in particular, paper or cardboard. The application system or a discharge part thereof and an associated medium collector are located in a relative collecting position or inserted therein, wherein the medium collector collects the discharged application medium and the application is started such that the application system or the discharge part and the medium collector are displaced from a relative collecting position into a relative application position wherein the application medium hits the running basecoat in the form of the curtain and/or bloom.

According to the invention, the pre-treatment device (21) is embodied in such a way that the surface of the web of material undergoes corona pre-treatment on the basis of barrier discharges ignited by a high-voltage alternating field.
