摘要： The present invention is directed to methods for coating monolayer films of surface-active polymers onto substrates of arbitrary shape. The present invention also provides molecular-based methods and processes that can be used to control the chemical and physical nature of surfaces and interfaces. The present invention is directed to methods for modifying a substrate having a surface comprising coating a macromolecular surfactant comprising modifiable functional group onto the surface, wherein the modifiable functional group assembles to the air-coating interface, thereby modifying the surface of the substrate; wherein if the substrate comprises a first polymer and the macromolecular surfactant comprises a second polymer having a modifiable functional group, then the group is not modifiable by an acid to functionally modify the surface of the substrate. The invention is directed to devices made by these methods.

摘要： The present invention relates to novel compounds that are useful as ligands in organometallic dyes. More particularly, the invention relates to dyes comprising the compounds, said dyes being sensitizing dyes useful in solar cell technology. According to an embodiment, the present invention discloses new ruthenium dyes and their application in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC).The referrerd ruthenium dyes with new structural features can be easily synthesized, show more than 85% light-to-electricity conversion efficiency and a higher than 9% cell efficiency.

The method includes forming a magnetic composition comprising the contaminant and an amphiphilic substance, and applying a magnetic field to the magnetic composition so as to separate the magnetic composition from the environment. One composition includes a micelle array confined in a magnetic mesoporous framework. Another composition is formed by adhering an amphiphilic material comprising functional surface groups to a contaminant, then interacting a magnetic material with the functional surface groups of the amphiphilic material. In various versions, the contaminant can be a hydrophobic organic compound, or a fullerene- related nanoparticle. The methods can also be used to purify hydrophobic organic compounds or fullerene-related nanoparticles.
