    • An optical cable termination device for fixing in position or pulling an optical cable to which the device is fitted in use, comprising first and second elongate compression members (125, 160) adapted for fitting together around the optical cable to extend lengthwise along the cable and to apply non-penetrative lateral gripping pressure to the optical cable and/or to an optical connector or other fitting attached to the cable, wherein the compression members incorporate hinge formations (170) adapted to hinge the compression members together at or near one end of the termination device and securing means (165) adapted to secure the compression members together, arranged so that the compression members can be hingedly assembled around the cable in an open-jaw position and can then be angularly closed to engage the securing means and apply the gripping pressure, substantially without penetrating or bending the optical cable. The device may be adapted to provide a cable pulling attachment eye (150), preferably near the end of the device remote from the hinge (170).

    • The present invention relates to a field of optical fibre communication. A safeguard device for a fibre adapter used to connect an input optical fibre connector with an output optical fibre connector is provided. In a preferred embodiment, the safeguard device comprises a shutter and a shutter locking unit. The shutter is operably provided at an interface of said fibre adapter to allow the interface to switch between an open position and a closed position, wherein, the shutter at least shuts off the optical beam emitted from the input optical connector when in said closed position. The shutter locking unit is adapted for selectively locking the shutter in the open position or in the closed position. The safeguard device for the interface of the fibre adapter is configured to lock the shutter in the conventional fibre adapter to stably hold the interface of the fibre adapter in an open position or in a closed position, especially, to lock the shutter in the closed position to shut off the optical beam emitted from the input optical fibre connector so as to effectively prevent the emission leakage of the optical beam from the input optical fibre connector, thus avoiding potential safety hazard to the user.
