摘要： This invention relates to methods and apparatus for partitioning a data word into a protected region and an unprotected region in the link layer, forward error correction of a DVB-H module to provide unequal error protection of frames during forward error correction of the frames. IP-datagrams are encapsulated for coding after a pre-loading stage is initiated so that the reliability and importance of data in data frames corresponding to the IP-datagrams can be determined. Unequal error protection is further achieved by padding zeros in the unprotected region.

摘要： A traffic optimizer facilitates communication of data packets using a unicast protocol between a server and at least one of a plurality of clients through a multicast network. The traffic optimizer includes a communication processor and a packet processor. The communication processor receives both data including association data and the data packets using the unicast protocol from the server. The association data includes IP addresses of the server and IP addresses of at least one of a plurality of clients available for communication. The packet processor processes the data packets to optimize data transfer in response to an analysis of the data packets, and forwards the processed data packets to at least one of the plurality of clients at respective ones of the received IP addresses through a multicast network using the unicast protocol.

摘要： There are provided a method and apparatus for optimizing frame selection for flexible macroblock ordering video encoding. A video encoder includes an encoder (200) for encoding a group of pictures by selecting between a frame mode and at least one flexible macroblock ordering mode. The pictures in the group are allowed to be concurrently encoded in different ones of the frame mode and the least one flexible macroblock ordering mode. The mode selection for each of the pictures in the group is based on an achieved maximum error resilience capability for the group of pictures.
