摘要： Absorbent articles, such as disposable diapers, having two waist regions and a crotch region are provided. The absorbent articles comprise a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a pair of longitudinally extending barrier cuffs. The barrier cuffs are formed from a lateral extension of the topsheet and the backsheet in at least the crotch region of the absorbent article using material that is normally discarded when the crotch area is formed. A cuff area is defined by pairs of laterally opposed cuts in the lateral extension of the topsheet and the backsheet. The cuff area is then folded and joined to the topsheet or other underlying structure to form the barrier cuff and an optional gasketing cuff.

摘要： Absorbent articles such as disposable diapers, incontinent briefs, diaper holders, training pants, feminine hygiene garments and the like, that have a unique waist feature that improves the dynamic fit as well as the containment characteristics of the absorbent article. Such absorbent articles comprise a chassis assembly (22) preferably comprising a liquid pervious topsheet (24), a liquid impervious backsheet (26), and an absorbent core (28) positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet; an extensible back waist feature; and a closure system (40, 41) for maintaining the absorbent article on the wearer. The extensible back waist feature provides an extensible feature that provides a more comfortable and contouring fit by initially conformably fitting the diaper to the wearer and by sustaining this fit. The extensible back waist feature has a hip panel (38), a central waistband panel (32), and a pair of side panels (36). The force/extension characteristics of each panel is designed to provide such improved fit and containment. While each panel of the extensible waist feature may be constructed from a number of extensible materials, the panels preferably comprise a structural elastic-like film web. The structural elastic-like film (SELF) web (Fig. 5) exhibits an elastic-like behavior in the direction of elongation without the use of added elastic materials. The configuration of the SELF web in each panel has specific characteristics to provide the desired force/extension characteristics of each panel.

摘要： A closure system for anchoring the absorbent article on the wearer. The closure system provides a primary line of tension around the wearer that fits predominantly within the low motion zone to enhance the dynamic fit and to anchor the absorbent core in place so that it will not slip/slide during use. The primary line of tension established by the closure system is disposed at an angle on the wearer. In preferred embodiments, the closure system is provided with tape tabs of a specified design, to allow the wearer to easily form the "angled" primary line of tension about the wearer. The closure system is also provided with a landing member designed to enhance the opportunity for the user to establish this primary line of tension equally each time the closure system is used.

The tampon includes an absorbent material having a first surface opposed to the second surface and an insertion end opposed to a withdrawal end.
