摘要： The present invention provides protein-based biomarkers and biomarker combinations that are useful in qualifying ovarian cancer status as well as endometrial cancer status in a patient. In particular, it has been found that hepcidin is a biomarker for both ovarian cancer and endometrial cancer and that a panel of biomarkers, including hepcidin, transthyretin and optionally other markers are useful to classify a subject sample as ovarian cancer or non- ovarian cancer. The biomarkers can be detected by SELDI mass spectrometry.

摘要： The present invention provides compositions and methods useful for detecting and treating aggressive prostate cancer. In a specific embodiment, a method for identifying a patient as having aggressive prostate cancer comprises the steps of (a) measuring the concentration of total PSA, free PSA, p2PSA in a serum sample obtained from the patient and calculating phi based on the measured serum concentrations; (b) measuring the concentration of fucosylated PSA (fuc-PSA) in a serum sample obtained from the patient; (c) measuring the concentration in a serum sample obtained from the patient of one or more of the following biomarkers: B7-H3, PLA2G7, GDF-15, IL-6 R alpha, SDC1, VCAM-1, sTie-2, IL-16, CA15-3, MMP-2, and HSP27; and (d) using an algorithm to identify the patient as having aggressive prostate cancer based on a panel of biomarkers comprising phi, fuc-PSA and one or more of the serum concentrations measured in step (c).

摘要： A combat training system for competition and impact fitness training provides a feedback mechanism that supports virtual sparring. The system is designed for athletic training and game-play, for one or multiple users. Sensors attached to a target structure may capture data about strikes on the target including proximity to a target, force of impact, direction, and reaction time. A target structure may be an instrumented punching bag, mannequin, or other structure that may move when struck. Data collected by the sensors may be sent to an analytic system that updates a display presenting a cumulative score, and/or for each strike, the data collected and the points awarded. An athlete may configure the target system for a particular session such as which targets in the system are active, a point value associated with each target, and/or the force of a strike required to count as a valid strike.
