According to one aspect of the invention the hair styling device comprises a body (112) defining a chamber (116) adapted to accommodate a length of hair, the chamber having a primary opening (124) through which the length of hair may enter the chamber; a rotatable element (134) adapted to engage the length of hair adjacent to the primary opening; an elongate member (120) around which, in use, the length of hair is wound by the rotatable element; a guide part (254) adapted to guide the length of hair towards the primary opening, the rotatable element being rotatable relative to the guide part, the guide part being movable relative to the body. The movable guide part may also serve to press the length of hair towards the primary opening.

摘要： This invention relates to a hair styling device, and in particular to an automated hair styling device. The hair styling device (10) has a body (12) with a chamber (16) adapted to accommodate a length of hair, the chamber having an opening (22) through which the length of hair may pass into the chamber. A rotatable element (30) which is driven to rotate by a motor is adapted to engage the length of hair adjacent to the opening, to pull the hair through the opening and to wind the hair around an elongate member (20) in the chamber. A sleeve (50) is permanently mounted to the body and is movable between an extended position in which it surrounds the elongate member (20) in the chamber (16) and a retracted position in which it does not surround the elongate member in the chamber.

The invention provides a hair styling device (10; 210; 310) having a body (12; 1 12; 312; 412) with a chamber (16; 1 16; 216; 316) adapted to accommodate a length of hair (24). The chamber has an opening (22; 322) through which the length of hair may pass into the chamber. A rotatable element (32) is adapted to engage the length of hair adjacent to the opening. A pressing means (28, 30; 330; 430) drives the length of hair towards the opening. The device has a capture region (364; 464) which is spaced from the opening (22; 322) and which retains misplaced hair. Holding means (330; 406) holds the misplaced hair within the capture region where it is detected by a detector (382; 482).
