    • The invention relates to a double-seated valve for use especially in aseptic applications, comprising at least two pipe connectors (3, 4, 7) between which two annular valve seats (11, 12) are positioned coaxially in relation to each other and in series. A sealing surface (25, 26) is embodied adjoining to each end section (22, 23), which sealing surface can be pressed against the corresponding valve seat (11, 12) by means of a closing element (8, 9). The sealing element (21) has a section of rolling diaphragm (24) which connects the two end sections (22, 23) to each other and defines the hollow chamber (34).

    • The disclosure relates to liquid-tight packaging laminates with improved mechanical strength and flexibility, with an outer layer of a mixture of metallocene polyethylene and low density polyethylene (LDPE), and mechanically strong liquid-tight packaging containers produced from the packaging laminate. The packaging laminate also has improved friction properties and improved resistance to stress-cracking as a result of fat- or fatty acid-containing substances. The packaging laminate is produced in a simple, rational manner using existing processing and production machinery. A packaging laminate according to the invention (60) includes a core layer (61) of paper and at least one outer layer (66) including a mixture of metallocene-polyethylene and suitably at least approximately 10 % by weight, preferably approximately 10-50 % by weight, more preferably approximately 20-40 % by weight, and most preferably approximately 20-30 % by weight of LDPE. The packaging laminate may also include additional gas barrier layer (63) and adhesion layer (64; 65). The outer layer (66) is applied by extrusion coating or co-extrusion, and, thanks to its superior processing properties, can be applied by means of existing processing machinery at hight line speeds.

    • The disclosure relates to packaging containers of a packaging laminate which may be stored in ice, water or high air humidity with retained configurational stability and grip rigidity properties, as well as to use for storage of liquid foods in a cold storage medium containing liquid. The packaging laminate (10) consists of a fibre core layer (11) and an outside layer comprising a layer (12) of a plastic selected from a group consisting of polypropylene, HDPE and polyester. The above-mentioned plastic layer is preferably a biaxially oriented film. On the inside of the core layer, an additional, stability-increasing layer (16) may be applied, such as, for example, an aluminium foil. The retained superior grip stability of a packaging container made from the packaging laminate described with reference to the figure is believed to be a combination of factors such that the outer layer of the packaging container first has improved liquid barrier properties, secondly has greater thickness and thirdly has higher material rigidity in conventionally employed outer layers in packaging containers of the above-described type. In addition, the I-beam effect which occurs as a result of the rigid outside layer (12) and the rigid layer (16) on the inside of the core layer cooperating with the interjacent core layer (11) contributes to retaining configurational and grip stability in a damp or humid environment.

    • The article of the present invention is an analog of a particular object which has substantially the same size, shape and rotational inertia of the object while having the density of the medium of which the object is within. The analog encompasses a signal generator which may be used to analyze various properties of the object. The analog encompasses a signal generator which may be used to measure the residence time of the analog in a holding tube of an aseptic processing machine. The article also has the thermal conductivity of the food particulate. The process of the present invention determines the residence time of a food particulate undergoing aseptic processing wherein the food particulate is a constituent of a heterogeneous food such as soup or yogurt with fruit. The process uses the article of the present invention to generate a signal which is indicative of the residence time of the analog. The signal generator may be a magnet, and more particularly a samarium cobalt permanent magnet.
