    • A radio network entity in charge of outer loop power control for a communication with a mobile radio is informed about erroneous data units, requested retransmissions, and/or data units transmission attempts associated with the data units sent by the mobile radio to the radio network. Another radio network entity, which sends a transmission power control signal to the mobile radio to control the mobile's transmit power level based on a target value, detects errors in data units received from the mobile radio and requests retransmission. Information associated with the requested retransmission is used to generate a revised target value. The target value may be revised by an outer loop power controller node or by an outer loop power controller entity in the same node as an ARQ entity that generates the information about erroneous data units, requested retransmissions, and/or data units transmission attempts associated with the data units sent by the mobile radio to the radio network.

    • The invention describes a flow control method to control HS-DSCH data streams over UTRAN Iub and Iur interfaces. Two credit assignment schemes are also described. A radio network node at which the flow control method executes is proposed. Finally a computer program product for execution of the flow control method and the credit assignment schemes is described. The control of separate user data flows is coordinated by Node-B and data transport over the Iub and Iur interfaces is adapted to data transfer over the Uu interface. The main advantage is that buffering can be primarily maintained in SRNC. It is shown that the proposed flow control method can significantly reduce Node-B's buffer level when compared to a scheme where the control of individual data flows is performed independently of each other. It is also shown that the negative impact on the quantity of flowing data is generally minor. (Figure 5)

    • The present invention relates to a radio communication system supporting macrodiversity. The problem address is the complexity of the macrodiversity links and the difficulties in synchronisation that may occur in the retransmission schemes during macrodiversity mode. The problem is solved by a first step of setting up a single communication link instead of the macrodiversity link. The first step though introduces a new problem of increased uplink interference in the base stations 13b that do not support macrodiversity link and that should have done so if macrodiversity mode was used.
