    • The present invention proposes a solution for providing multicast/broadcast service to users roaming between different operational domains. In particular it is proposed to provide means enabling the user to contact a home multicast/broadcast server. Said means might be a request being triggered by the user. Said request includes a network identifier identifying the visited operational domain, which is provided to the multicast/broadcast server. The latter decides on a provision method for providing the at least one multicast/broadcast service to the user in the visited operational domain considering rules for a provision of multicast/broadcast services in the visited operational domain and the request triggered by the user. Further the multicast/broadcast server determines a second parameter set for accessing the at least one multicast/broadcast service in the visited operational domain according to the provision method and informs the user about the second parameter set.

    • The disclosure relates to a technique for transporting content data to a plurality of mobile clients in a network. Among others, a method embodiment for controlling bearer selection by the mobile client in the network having a plurality of access areas is presented. Each access area provides for a transmission of the content data at least one of a point-to-multipoint-type bearer (PTM-type bearer) and a point-to-point-type bearer (PTP-type bearer). The method comprises the step of receiving information regarding a local bearer topology (LBT). The LBT comprises at least two neighbouring access areas including an access area of the mobile client. The LBT information indicates for each access area of the LBT an availability or unavailability of at least one bearer of at least one bearer type. The method further comprises the step of performing bearer selection based on the LBT information.

    • The invention provides a solution for switching between channels belonging to one on-demand multi-channel streaming session. An aggregation procedure for aggregating of a number of session descriptions parameters corresponding to a multitude of channels into one single session description is proposed. Further each channel is described by a mandatory unique identifier, which can be referenced in a channel switch request and an optional human readable identifier for display in a title bar or a channel selection menu. A corresponding client application processes the SDP describing the channel bundle and uses the found information for allowing a user to switch to a channel associated with a certain identifier. Signaling of a channel switch request is done preferably via an RTSP SET PARAMETR message or as an alternative out-band via HTTP. A channel switch control unit, which is part of the multi-channel streaming server, receives a multitude of RTP flows and selects one of the flows for forwarding to the client. A switching point determination is a part of the channel switch control unit and determines the next possible point of time for switching to a requested channel. The client application receives time information for the switch point in response to a channel switch request.
