    • The present invention relates to a communication system supporting communication of data and comprising at least a first core network with a plurality of core network functional server nodes (CS core nodes; MCSs) for circuit switched communication and a second core network with a number of core network functional sever nodes (PS core nodes; SGSNs) for packet switched communication, wherein at least the CS core nodes are arranged in a pool to, in common, control a number of control nodes (BSCs). An interface (Gs) between CS core nodes and PS core nodes is used for providing information to CS core nodes from PS core nodes relating to mobility related events provided from an MS to a PS core node. Means are provided for, when a mobile station, MS, is moved from a first CS core node to a second CS core node, from either of said first and second CS core node involved in the change, providing the PS core node to which the MS is attached, with information relating to the change of CS core nodes from said first to said second CS core node.

    • A packet switching network having a malfunction list is provided to reduce network congestion. According to an exemplary embodiment, each node in the network includes a malfunction list which stores an unavailability value representing a state of unavailability of certain addressees in the network. Before sending a packet to an addressee, the node consults its own malfunction list to determine the unavailability value of the addressee. A packet addressed to an unavailable addressee is selectively returned to the sender by the node rather than travelling through the network to the addressee and back through the network to the sender. Packets can be returned to the sender with a probability proportional to the unavailability value of the addressee so that transmission is gradually resumed after a state of unavailability as the unavailability value decreases over time.

    • The present invention relates to a device, method, array and use of the device for optical coupling. The device comprises first and second optical waveguides (13, 23) extending longitudinally with cores (14, 24) adapted to guide optical radiation (15), first resonator means, laterally surrounding the first waveguide, comprising first and second resonator members (18, 19), and second resonator means, laterally surrounding the second waveguide, comprising third and fourth resonator members (28, 29). The invention is characterised in that first and second deflector means (16, 26) are adapted to couple radiation propagating in the respective first and second waveguides with common radiation modes (30), which modes are defined by adjustable geometrical and material properties of the device, so as to obtain wavelength selective coupling of radiation guided by the first and second waveguides, provided the resonator means are tuned to the same resonance wavelength.
