摘要： Method and arrangement in a multimedia gateway unit in a local network environment for supporting a media object search on an external network environment. The multimedia gateway unit receives a search query from a device unit in the local network environment and transforms the search query to a format compatible with the external network environment. The search query is sent to a search engine on an external network environment, where the search query includes at least a search request for a media object. The search response, in response to the search query, is adapted to the device capabilities of the device unit upon which the media will be rendered, and transformed to a format compatible with the local network environment. Finally, the adapted search reponse is forward to the device unit upon which the media will be rendered.

摘要： A method and node for use in a non-linear network delivering streaming media. The node has a receiver arranged to receive data fragments from the network, each data fragment tagged with a timestamp providing a time interval relative to an epoch time reference point. A buffer is also provided for storing the received data fragments. The node also has a processor configured to calculate, on the basis of a timestamp of a data fragment stored in the buffer and a further criterion, a schedule for requesting further fragments. A transmitter is provided for sending fragment requests at times determined by the processor as a result of the calculation. In this way, fragments are not requested unnecessarily, which reduces the amount of network traffic and reduces the processing requirements of both the node and nodes that receive the requests.

摘要： A method and apparatus for distributing media over a P2P IPTV network is described. Media frames are marked with a watermark at a node in the network such as end user equipment or a proxy node (e.g. DSLAM) before being sent to another node in the network. The watermark denotes that the frames have passed through the node, enabling tracking of data through the network. This assists in identifying distributors of pirated media. The watermark may also be made visible and used as a badge of origin.

摘要： A method and apparatus for receiving media content in a communications network. A node in the network receives a sequence of fragments from a media stream. The node also receives fragment data relating to each fragment, the fragment data comprising any of an indicator that the fragment comprises key data relating to the media stream and an indication of when a next fragment comprising key data appears in the sequence. If the node determines that any fragments in thesequence are missing, it uses the fragment data to prioritize which missing fragments are required, and sends a request to a further node requesting the missing fragment having the highest priority.

摘要： A method of ordering the delivery of a media stream to a client terminal coupled to an IP network is described. The method comprises identifying, at a user terminal (e.g. a mobile device), destination address information for the client terminal. The user terminal is authenticated to an application server of an IP Multimedia Subsystem network, and the destination address information is sent from the user terminal to the application server. The media stream is then sent to the client terminal. This enables the media to be delivered to the client terminal on the basis of the authentication of the user terminal.
