    • A method of supplying channel information in a wireless communication system comprises a mobile terminal normally providing a basic channel report to the wireless communication system; the mobile terminal receiving at least one common feedback criterion broadcast to a plurality of mobile terminals; the mobile terminal determining if the mobile terminal satisfies a condition based on the at least one common feedback criterion; and the mobile terminal selectively providing an enhanced channel report to the wireless communication system based on the determining. The basic channel report may comprise information related to a first set of channel parameters, and the enhanced channel report may provide greater detail on the first set of channel parameters and/or relate to a second set of channel parameters. A method of a base station adaptively controlling channel information reporting by broadcast transmitting at least one common feedback criterion is also presented.

    • A linear turbo-equalizer for use in a CDMA receiver equalizes a despread received signal (rather than the spread received signal) to suppress self-interference resulting from coupling between transmitted symbols. In an example implementation, a linear equalizer based on a generalized-Rake (G-Rake) receiver design uses decoder feedback in forming Rake combining weights as well as in forming a self-interference estimate removed from the equalizer signal provided to the decoder. Preferably, turbo de-coding is also performed. In that case, each turbo-decoder component preferably executes one pass before feeding back information to the equalizer. This ensures that the turbo-decoder does not prematurely lock onto an incorrect code word before feeding back extrinsic information to the equalizer.

    • Systems and methods are disclosed herein for configuring a wireless device individually (i.e., separately) per uplink subframe set as to whether or not the wireless device can use uplink 256 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (256QAM). In some embodiments, a method of operation of a network node comprises configuring a wireless device for use of a Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) table for uplink 256QAM separately per uplink subframe set for two or more uplink subframe sets. In some embodiments, the two or more uplink subframe sets are two or more uplink subframe sets for separate uplink power control. In this manner, 256QAM can be utilized in more subframes and, as a result, uplink data rate can be increased.
