摘要： A User Plane Function, UPF (35), sends a load report to a Session Management Function, SMF (45). Responsive to receiving the load report from the UPF (35), the SMF (45) installs a load reduction policy rule in the UPF (35). The load reduction policy rule comprises a criterion for identifying one or more users subject to the load reduction policy rule. The UPF (35) selectively applies the load reduction policy rule to user plane traffic of the one or more users based on the criterion.

The method comprises: responsive to detection of a trigger event associated with a wireless device having a connection to the telecommunications network via the radio access network node or seeking to establish a connection to the telecommunications network via the radio access network node, transmitting, directly to a user plane core network node, a message initiating establishment of a user-plane tunnel for the connection between the radio access network node and the user plane core network node. The message comprises one or more of: an indication of an identifier of the wireless device; and an indication of an identifier of a session for the wireless device, and further comprises an indication of a downlink tunnel endpoint identifier of the radio access network node.

This allows the other RNC to determine the contribution of those mobiles to the total uplink interference in its cells. The instance registration message includes information for the instance of the RAN function. The information includes a service name identifying the RAN service and an instance identifier for the instance of the RAN function. Responsive to receiving the instance registration message, the information for the instance of the RAN function is saved. The information includes the service name and the instance identifier. A service discovery request message is received with query parameters from a service consumer node. The query parameters include the service name. Responsive to the query parameters including the service name, a service discovery response message is transmitted to the service consumer node. The service discovery response message includes the instance identifier for the instance of the RAN function.
