    • In a cellular radio system cell identities, in particular the E-UTRAN Physical Layer Cell Identities (PCIDs), are grouped in accordance with the area, in particular the Tracking Area, to which they belong to in a message transmitted from a radio base station to a mobile station. In one embodiment the grouped cell identity information is transmitted as a broadcast message. A multi RAT, e.g.GERAN/E-UTRAN, capable mobile station receiving such a broadcast message where the IDs are grouped together in tracking area groups is then enabled to determine the neighbouring cells that belong to the same Area. As a result when cell reselection to an E-UTRAN cell is rejected due to that the Tracking Area is not allowed, the mobile station can then be allowed to directly initiate cell reselection to E-UTRAN cells that are not part of the same PCID group, and which thus do not belong to the same tracking area. This in turn results in that no waiting time is needed to initiate a cell reselection towards those cells.

    • The present invention relates to assigning addresses to communication devices in a radio access network and notifying communication devices of scheduled uplink transmission time periods. Related methods, communication devices and control units are disclosed. A method of assigning an address to a communication device in a radio access network for use in notification of scheduled uplink transmission time periods for the communication device is provided. The method comprises assigning to the communication device an uplink state flag (USF) value. Furthermore, the method comprises assigning to the communication device an extended USF (eUSF) value. The address assigned to the communication device is a combination of the assigned USF value and the assigned eUSF value. By means of the eUSF value, the normal address range provided by the USF is extended, thereby facilitating use of more communication devices in the radio access network.

    • The invention relates to a method in a network controller node (20) for transmitting an emergency message to a mobile station (10) within a cell of an access point (AP) connected to the network controller node (20) within a telecommunications network. The network controller node (20) receives information of the mobile station (10) and determines location of the mobile station (10) based on the received information. In addition, the network controller node (20) receives an emergency notification comprising an indicator indicating affected area and determines that the mobile station (10) is within the indicated affected area based on the determined location. That being the case, the network controller node (20) then transmits the emergency message, via the access point (AP), to the mobile station (10) in the cell.
