摘要： A method and terminal for providing Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) and other communication services to a group of users, such as a family, using an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network. A group private user identity is associated with a group public user identity and with a plurality of individual public user identities, each of which is associated with a different user in the group. Utilizing the group private User ID and the group public User ID, a browser registers a group subscription with the IMS network. When an individual user enters an identifier such as a PIN, the individual is then registered with the IMS network, while maintaining the group registration with the IMS network and the IPTV network. Individual users can be changed without having to restart the browser.

摘要： The invention is directed towards improving the handling of communication session invitations in a communication network. In the network (N) a communication session control device (10) receives an invitation (I1) for an end user to engage in a communication session, sends a corresponding invitation message (I2) according to an invitation prioritizing scheme (PS) to a group (S1) of end user terminals (16, 18, 20) and receives, from one terminal (16), a response (R) providing a selection of a group related device (22). Based on the response it then disrupts sending invitation messages (12) and initiates involvement of the group related device (22) in the communication session. The end user terminal (16) receives the invitation message (I2), receives a user selection of the group related device (22) and sends the response (R) addressed to the communication session control device (10).

The IPTV applications (54) are invokable at a set top box (50) and can be so-called embedded applications and/or browser-based applications. An event requiring the invocation of an IPTV application (54) at the set top box (50) is detected and triggers a look-up in the registration table (170). The registration table (170) is, thus, used as source to indicate those IPTV applications that are potentially available and can be launched at the set top box (50). This is achieved by the embodiments of the present invention by letting the MS 105, instead of the controller 104, control the session with the UE and omit the session between the UE and the controller. The UE is thereby sending the keep alive messages to the MS, but that would not imply a troublesome load on the MS, since the keep alive messages are regular RTSP requests with an empty body.
