    • The invention relates to a method for supporting cell change between frequency layers. The method is performed in a UE and/or a RN node of a wireless communication network deploying two frequency layers. The RN node serves a UE in a cell of a first of the two frequency layers. The UE is configured to perform measurements on the first frequency layer, and to exclude measurements on a second of the two frequency layers. The method comprises receiving (610) measurement results from the UE, for measurements performed on a cell of the first frequency layer, determining (620) a location of the UE based on the measurement results, assessing (630) a coverage of a target cell of the second frequency layer based on the location and a coverage map for the two frequency layers, and determining (640) whether to change to the target cell based on the assessment.

    • The present invention relates to methods and devices for mobility management in a cellular communications system. A user equipment maintains (21) at least two sets of mobility trigger parameters. Each set of mobility trigger parameters corresponds to a predetermined user equipment speed range. The user equipment determines (22) a speed range that the speed of the user equipment falls into and selects (23), based on the determined speed range, at least one set of mobility trigger parameters to be used for performing mobility-based decisions. If the user equipment is in connected mode a network base station may select a set of mobility trigger parameters to be used for performing handover decisions based on a determined speed range of the user equipment. Advantages are that ping-pong mobility decisions may be avoided and it is sufficient to determine a range for the UE speed, which is less complicated than determining an accurate speed of the UE particularly in idle mode.

    • A wireless terminal (30) capable of operating in a discontinuous mode comprising and method for operating such wireless terminal (30) facilitate measurements pertaining to position of the wireless terminal (30). The method includes receiving a message from the radio access network (20).     • The embodiments of the present invention relate to a method in UE (400) and a UE (400) configured to adapt at least one higher layer filtering parameter used for radio link failure detection between the UE (400) and a base station (600) in a telecommunications system (200). The embodiments of the present invention further relate to a base station (600) and a method in the base station (200). According to an embodiment of the present invention, the UE (400) is configured to operate in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode having at least one DRX cycle; and is further configured to adapt at least one parameter as a function of a current DRX cycle the UE is using. The UE (400) is further configured to evaluate radio link failure detection based on the one or several adapted parameters. After evaluation, the UE (400) is arranged to inform the base station (600) on radio link conditions.
