    • A method of radio link failure recovery for a user equipment, UE, device working in a cellular telecommunication network is disclosed, where base station of each cell periodically transmits a broadcast message including information related to needs of a UE to enable to connect to that cell. The method comprises measuring (100) signal conditions for serving cell and neighbouring cells; upon hand over event being triggered (102) from measured signal conditions, sending (104) a hand over measurement report, and storing (106) information, at least for one of the neighbouring cells, related to UE needs to enable to connect to the cell; and if hand over procedure fails (108), retrieving (110) stored information for one of the neighbouring cells such that information related to UE needs to enable to connect to the neighbouring cell is acquired and re-establishing (112) connection with the cellular telecommunication network using the acquired information.     • A method of decreasing radio link failure in challenging mobility scenarios for a user equipment (UE), device working in a cellular telecommunication network with a base station of each cell is disclosed. The method comprises measuring signal conditions for serving cell and neighbouring cells periodically; and estimating channel variations and comparing the estimate with a threshold value such that, when channel variations are determined to exceed a channel variations threshold, performing an accelerated procedure comprising predicting whether handover is likely to occur in connection with the next scheduled measurement instant based on the signal measurements such that when handover is predicted, the procedure directly proceeds with sending an initial measurement report transmission request. Thereby handover delay can be reduced such that risk of radio link failure is reduced at significantly varying signal conditions. A UE device and a computer program are also disclosed.

    • The present invention relates to methods and devices for mobility management in a cellular communications system. A user equipment maintains (21) at least two sets of mobility trigger parameters. Each set of mobility trigger parameters corresponds to a predetermined user equipment speed range. The user equipment determines (22) a speed range that the speed of the user equipment falls into and selects (23), based on the determined speed range, at least one set of mobility trigger parameters to be used for performing mobility-based decisions. If the user equipment is in connected mode a network base station may select a set of mobility trigger parameters to be used for performing handover decisions based on a determined speed range of the user equipment. Advantages are that ping-pong mobility decisions may be avoided and it is sufficient to determine a range for the UE speed, which is less complicated than determining an accurate speed of the UE particularly in idle mode.
