    • The present invention relates to a method (300A; 300B; 300C) for exchanging a digital content between a communication system (100) and a connectable device (UD) connected thereto. The communication system (100) comprises a first base station (120) configured to exchange the digital content over wireless communication links in a first frequency band, the frequencies of the first frequency band being higher than or equal to 6 GHz. The communication system (100) comprises a second base station (115) configured to exchange the digital content over wireless communication links in a second frequency band, the frequencies of the second frequency band being lower than 6 GHz. The method comprises: (i) determining (310) a position of the connectable device (UD); (ii) causing (325, 330, 335) the connectable device (UD) and the first base station (120) to attempt to establish a wireless communication link in the first frequency band therebetween; (iii) if (330) the wireless communication link in the first frequency band has been successfully established, causing (345) the first base station (120) to exchange the digital content with the connectable device (UD) through the established wireless communication link in the first frequency band; (iv) prompting (350, 355) a user of the connectable device (UD) to change the position of the connectable device (UD), if no wireless communication link in the first frequency band has been successfully established, and (v) after step (iv), performing steps (ii) and (iii).

    • A cellular network (100) is disclosed. The cellular network comprises a plurality of control plane transceiver stations (105), each one configured to provide radio coverage over a corresponding first coverage area (105A) for allowing user equipment (110) within said first coverage area (105A) to exchange signaling traffic with the control plane transceiver station (105). For each control plane transceiver station (105), the cellular network (100) further comprises one or more user transceiver stations (115(i)) located within said first coverage area (105A), each user transceiver station (115(i)) being configured to provide radio coverage over a corresponding second coverage area (115(i)A) for allowing user equipment (110) within said second coverage area (115(i)A) to exchange user traffic with the user transceiver stations (115(i)) by exploiting a selected frequency band among a respective set of frequency bands. When a user equipment (110) within one first coverage area (105A) of said first coverage areas requests to exchange user traffic, the cellular network (100) is configured to: select a group of candidate user transceiver stations (115(i)) located within said one first coverage area (105A) based on the position of the user equipment (110) within said one first coverage area (105A); select a group of candidate frequency bands among the sets of frequency bands of the user transceiver stations (115(i)) located within said one first coverage area (105A) based on at least one among: request parameters indicative of the type of request, user parameters indicative of a user category, and user equipment parameters (110) indicative of a user equipment category, and allow the user equipment (110) to exchange user traffic with one or more selected user transceiver stations (115(i)) exploiting a selected frequency band based on a mapping between the selected group of candidate transceiver stations (115(i)) and the selected group of candidate frequency bands.

    • A method for assigning frequency bands on a cellular network deployed in a geographical area is provided. The cellular network comprises a plurality of network nodes each one equipped with at least one antenna having a corresponding radiation pattern and being configured to activate transmission links between pairs of corresponding network nodes to exchange traffic. The method comprises, in response to the assessment of a new transmission link to be activated between a first network node and a second network node, carrying out the following sequence of operations: retrieving an indication of coordinates of the first and second network nodes within the geographical area; retrieving an indication of resource sharing clusters of the cellular network, each resource sharing cluster comprising a group of transmission links considered as potentially cause of transmission collisions to each other, selecting a set of the resource sharing clusters according to a comparison of the coordinates of the first network node with the coordinates of the network nodes corresponding to the transmission links of the resource sharing clusters; if the selected set of resource sharing clusters is not empty, carrying out the following operations a) – c): a) identifying possible transmission collisions between the new transmission link and the transmission links of the selected set of resource sharing clusters according to a comparison of the coordinates of the network nodes corresponding to the transmission links of the selected set of resource sharing clusters with the radiation pattern of the first network node; b) assigning one of the frequency bands to the new transmission link according to the identification of the possible transmission collisions; c) activating the new transmission link by exploiting the assigned frequency band.
