    • A snap fit between a top cover (30) and a partition (28) of an air conditioner assembly (10) simplifies assembly and provides for disassembly during service and maintenance. The top cover (30) is secured to the partition (28) by a snap fit securement feature. The snap fit includes a tab (34) extending upward from the partition (28) that is received within an opening (32) within the top cover (30). The opening (32) is disposed in the top cover (30) and cooperates with a securement surface (40). The securement surface (40) is spaced a distance (54) apart from the opening (32). The distance between the securement surface (40) and the opening (32) provides for bending of the tab (34) away from the engagement surface (40) to release the top cover (30) from the partition (28).

    • An air conditioner assembly (10) includes a partition (28) defining an opening (30) that corresponds with a blower (18) to provide the desired air flow. Air flow generated by the blower (18) provides for desired operation of the air conditioner assembly (10). The opening (30) includes an orifice (34). The orifice (34) attaches to the partition (28) and cooperates with the blower (18) to produce the desired air flow. The orifice (34) includes three tabs (42, 46, 50) that extend from a circumference to engage corresponding slots (44, 48, 52) defined on the partition (28). At least one of the tabs (42, 46, 50) includes a locking feature to prevent removal of the orifice (34) from the partition (28). The locking feature (54) is hidden on an inner surface of the slot (44) to inhibit disassembly during maintenance or other service.

    • An air conditioning unit is provided that includes a wall separating first and second sides. The wall includes an aperture providing communication between the first and second sides. The first side is exposed to the outside environment, and the second side is exposed to the recirculated conditioned room air, in one example. A command lever includes a portion cooperating with the aperture in response to angular movement of the command lever to variably obstruct the aperture and selectively exhaust stale air to the outside environment. First and second locating features are respectively provided by the command lever and wall. The first and second locating features coact with one another to locate the command lever relative to the aperture during the angular movement to provide precise alignment and desired feel. The portion seals against the wall to block the aperture in a closed position. The portion is spaced from the wall to permit stale air to flow from the second side to the first side in an opened position.
