摘要： The present invention relates to a method in a mobile device (2) and a mobile device (2) for low power identification of its position in an indoor environment (22), in which beacon transmitters (20) of a beacon system are present. The device receives a notification from at least one of the beacon transmitters (20) of the beacon system that notifies the mobile device (2) that it is within the range of the beacon system. Thus it is the beacon transmitters (20) that perform the continuous scanning to identify if the mobile device (2) is within range and not the mobile device (2) itself. This will reduce the power consumption of the mobile device (2) substantially. The mobile device (2) will then request that the beacon transmitters (20) within range to send data pertaining to their position, and then determine its position by performing calculations based on such data.
