摘要： An air purifier may include an ambient air intake configured to draw ambient air into the air purifier; a plasma reactor configured to generate one or more reaction products from the ambient air; a main body including at least the plasma reactor; a neutralizing trap configured to neutralize at least a portion of the one or more reaction products generated by the plasma reactor, thereby producing a purified gas stream; and a purified gas outlet configured to expel the purified gas stream from the air purifier. The ambient air intake may be fluidly coupled to the plasma reactor. The plasma reactor may be fluidly coupled to the neutralizing trap. The neutralizing trap may be fluidly coupled to the purified gas outlet.

摘要： Processes and systems for purifying an aqueous solution are provided. The process for purifying an aqueous solution may include contacting an ambient gas stream comprising oxygen and water with a free radical generator, where contacting the ambient gas stream causes at least a portion of oxygen and water present in the ambient gas stream to undergo a reaction to produce a free radical treatment gas comprising ozone and hydroxyl radicals. The process may further include contacting at least a portion of the free radical treatment gas with the aqueous solution, where the aqueous solution comprises bacteria and contacting the aqueous solution with the free radical treatment gas reduces the bacteria present in the aqueous solution to produce a treated aqueous solution. The systems provided are capable of purifying aqueous streams according to one or more of the processes described herein.

摘要： A free radical generator includes a discharge electrode assembly with discharge electrode pins in a radial pattern and electrically configured to receive one or more voltage pulses. A liquid or solid counter electrode has a surface separated from the pins by a discharge gap. A motive element rotates the electrode assembly such that the array of pins rotates about an axis and the pins move relative to the counter electrode. A liquid treatment system may include a free radical generator and introduce free radicals into the liquid. A gas treatment system may include the free radical generator, a gas flow generating element to, a column for the flow of gas, and a liquid introduction element operable to introduce a liquid from a liquid bath into the interior space of the column such that the flow of gas is exposed to the liquid. Methods and further systems are also provided.

摘要： A barrierless device and method for generating streamer discharge is provided including solid/liquid electrodes for free radical generation at high efficiency. A first electrode, including periodically positioned discharge ignition tips is deposed in proximity to a second electrode, creating a discharge gap with no dielectric barrier layer in between. The discharge gap includes an inlet and an outlet. Streamers with proximity constraints emerge from the first electrode and propagate through the discharge gap towards the second electrode by supplying either positive or negative pulse voltage to the first electrode, resulting in interaction of the streamer heads with the discharge gas and generation of radicals. Optionally, the second electrode is a liquid which interacts with the streamer head to generate additional radicals. The device can either be used to cause fast chemical reaction within the discharge gap or the generated radical gas can be removed for utilization outside the discharge gap.
