    • There is described a labelling unit (15) movable along a given path (P) for receiving labels (2) to be applied on relative articles (3); the unit (15) comprises a hollow receiving member (22) having a lateral wall (24) adapted to receive a relative label (2), extending around an axis (F) transversal to the path (P) and comprising a suction portion (36) provided with through holes (33); a suction pneumatic device (35) connected to the holes (33) through the inside of the receiving member (22) and which can be activated to retain a label (2) on the outer surface of the lateral wall (24) of the receiving member (22) by- suction; and a hollow distributor member (60), which is coaxially arranged inside the receiving member (22), is provided with a number of angularly spaced opening sections (61, 62, 63) having, in a direction parallel to the axis (F), different heights (Hl, H2, H3) correlated to the heights of different labels (2) to be processed by the unit (15), and which can be rotated in at least two different angular positions, each corresponding to locate a selected one of the opening sections (61, 62, 63) in front of the suction portion (36) of the lateral wall (24) of the receiving member (22) so making operative only the holes (33) facing the selected opening section (61, 62, 63).
