    • A lightweight pliable heat and noise insulator blanket (19) is mounted to the exterior surface of the axial end wall (12) of a temperature controlled cylinder (10). The insulator blanket comprises multiple layers of heat and noise insulation material (55), (56), and the blanket defines a central opening (45) and a slot (48) extending from the central opening through the outer peripheral edge portion (44) so that the blanket can be positioned about the axle (15) of the rotary cylinder. The insulator blanket includes an annular protrusion (54) just inwardly of its outer periphery for placement against the exterior surface of the axial end wall of the rotary cylinder to form a seal between the insulator blanket and the rotary cylinder. The outer peripheral portion (44) of the insulator blanket extends about the connector screws (14) of the rotary cylinder while the annular seal (54) of the insulator blanket is urged by centrifugal force toward a sealed relationship between the insulator blanket and the axial end wall of the rotary cylinder.

    • The present invention provides an improved seaming arrangement of a papermakers fabric, in that the breakage of one loop will not affect the rest of the seam. The present invention relates to a papermakers fabric (10) made endless by interdigitating the loop formations (11) of seaming bodies (12, 13). The seaming bodies are provided at the free ends of the fabric (10) and a pintle wire (14) is inserted into the tunnel formed by and between the loops (11). This solves the problem of unravelling of the fabric in the past, due to one of the loops breaking resulting in fabric failure.

    • A moisture detection meter (10) comprises a sensing head having a single chamber (11) with an open top. A dielectric resonator member (14) is provided in the chamber. The sensing head further comprises a field generator (17) to generate an oscillating electric fluid in said chamber. The resonator member (14) and the field interact to produce at least one field component which is directed out of the open top of the chamber to interact with stock passing over the sensing head. A detection means is also provided to detect the frequency of resonance of the field compact after interaction with the stock and an indicator device is provided so as to give an output indicative of the moisture content of the stock.
