摘要： A fifth generation (5G) or sixth generation (6G) communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate is provided. A method performed by a terminal configured with a carrier aggregation (CA) for a first cell and a second cell is provided. The method includes determining a beam failure of the first cell, in response to the determining of the beam failure of the first cell, transmitting a first message of a random access for a beam failure recovery, receiving a second message of the random access on a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) of the first cell based on the transmission of the first message, transmitting a third message of the random access based on the second message and receiving a fourth message of the random access on the PDSCH of the first cell based on the transmission of the third message, wherein control information for scheduling the second message and the fourth message is received on a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) of the second cell.

The method includes receiving configuration information for a plurality of channel status information reference signals (CSI-RSs), generating feedback information by measuring at least one of the CSI-RSs based on priority information, and transmitting the feedback information. The priority information is associated with a non-precoded CSI-RS, a cell-specific beamformed CSI-RS and a user equipment (UE)-specific beamformed CSI-RS.
