    • In the case of an apparatus for production of gas for filling buoyant bodies for bodies which are located in the water with gases stored in a compressed form, a compressed-gas reservoir is combined with a hot-gas generator, which is known per se. In this case, the hot-gas generator is arranged both inside the compressed-gas reservoir and outside it and, furthermore, the hot-gas generator can be integrated in a mixing chamber. The hot-gas generator is based on catalytic decomposition of a liquid energy carrier, preferably hydrazine, or generates the buoyancy gas by combustion or by the chemical reaction of a solid energy carrier, preferably lithium hydride, with the surrounding seawater. The compressed-gas reservoir is filled with a gas. The hot-gas generator is preferably designed such that, when the apparatus is activated, the cooling down of the compressed gas is compensated for by the heat generated by the hot-gas generator, or pressure is built up or decreased in a controlled manner within the compressed-gas reservoir.
