摘要： A method and system for providing asymmetric modes of operation in multi-carrier wireless communication systems. A method may assign a long code mask (LCM) to an information channel associated with a plurality of forward link carriers to transmit data from an access network to an access terminal; and multiplex the information channel on a reverse link carrier. The information channel may include one of data source channel (DSC), data rate control (DRC) and acknowledgment (ACK) information, and the multiplexing may be code division multiplexing (CDM). The A may instruct the AT on whether to multiplex the DSC information based on feedback from the AT. The method may further offset the ACK information on the reverse link to reduce the reverse link peak to average, CDM the information channel on an I-branch and on a Q-branch, and transmit the code division multiplexed information channel on the reverse link carrier.

摘要： Methods, apparatus and media for receiving emergency broadcast information in a broadcast-multicast service of a communication system. The methods, apparatus and media include scheduling a broadcast of emergency broadcast information in designated control channel cycles for designated subscriber stations. The control channel cycles are transmitted with the designated control channel cycles including the emergency broadcast information. Subscriber stations awake according to their designated control channel cycle and receive the transmission of their designated control channel cycle on a broadcast-multicast service. The subscriber station determines if emergency broadcast information is in the control channel cycle assigned to the subscriber station and responds accordingly.

摘要： Embodiments disclosed herein relate to carrier allocation and management in multi-carrier communication systems. In some embodiments, the number of carriers assigned to an access terminal on a forward link may be determined by an access network, and the number of carriers assigned to the access terminal on a reverse link may be based on a cooperative process between the access terminal and the access network. 摘要： Assignment of a session information IP address for use as a mobile station identifier facilitates a distributed architecture for processing IP communications in coordination with a wireless communication system. The session information IP address identifies a storage location of session information for a given AT. The AT effectively carries a pointer to the session information, wherein an access point is able to access the session information directly. This avoids the need to store mapping information for each AT and associated location of session information. Additionally, use of an IP address identifying the session holder as a mobile station identifier avoid delays incurred by such mapping. The session information IP address may be compressed to use a locally unique value. The compressed version conserves bit space, and reduces processing complexity on relocation to a next access point.

Multiple Security Layer (SL) packets may be multiplexed into a single PL packet to increase efficiency, wherein the SL packets may have variable lengths. In one embodiment, different format SL packets for different users are combined into capsules that form the PL packet. Shorter packets are for users in poor channel conditions or requiring smaller amounts of data due to the applications and the accompanying Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. In one embodiment, a modified Preamble structure provides for Unicast or multi-user packets. Alternate embodiment provides modified Rate Sets, a mechanism for identifying ACK from a single-user packet or a multiplexed packet (delayed ACK). 摘要： Systems and methodologies are described herein that facilitate congestion control in a wireless communication system. As described herein, an access network and associated terminals can utilize a token bucket access control mechanism, through which respective terminals can be allotted access tokens and/or other units for access to the access network. For example, upon requesting access to a given network, a user of the network can determine whether sufficient access tokens have been accumulated, based on which the request can be selectively allowed or denied. As further described herein, multiple token bucket mechanisms can be utilized, which can correspond to respective packet flows or the like. Additionally, token bucket access control can be implemented as described herein in cooperation with conventional access persistence functionality. Further aspects described herein facilitate the adjustment of token bucket parameters for network access control based on network loading.

摘要： Techniques for generating and transmitting packets on multiple links in a wireless communication system are described. In one aspect, a transmitter generates new packets for the multiple links based on the likelihood of each link being available. The transmitter determines the likelihood of each carrier being available based on whether or not there is a pending packet on that carrier and, if yes, the number of subpackets sent for the pending packet. The transmitter generates new packets such that packets for links progressively less likely to be available contain data units with progressively higher sequence numbers. The transmitter determines whether each link is available and sends a packet on each link that is available. In another aspect, the transmitter generates and sends new packets in a manner to ensure in-order transmission. In one design, the transmitter generates new packets for each possible combination of links that might be available.
