A UE may determine a procedure including one or more uplink transmissions. The UE may determine a transmit power level corresponding to the procedure based at least in part on the procedure-specific uplink power parameters. The UE may transmit the one or more uplink transmissions using the determined transmit power level.

The time-frequency resource configuration identifies a correspondence between at least one receive beam in a set of one or more receive beams and at least one set of time-frequency resources in one or more sets of time-frequency resources of the uplink subframe. The first set of time-frequency resources is selected based at least in part on a transmit beam of the UE, a correspondence of the transmit beam to a receive beam in the set of one or more receive beams, and a correspondence of the receive beam to the selected first set of time-frequency resources.

摘要： Methods and apparatuses are provided for causing active hand-in of a device from a macrocell base station to a femto node, which can be an inter-frequency hand-in. The femto node can broadcast a beacon over an operating frequency of the macrocell base station, and the macrocell base station, and/or one or more network components, can identify the femto node based on one or more parameters reported by the device from receiving the beacon. The beacon can be transmitted at varying powers to ensure active hand-in triggering, mitigate interference and/or can be powered on and off for such purposes. In addition, a macrocell base station can regulate compressed mode periods during which a device can measure the femto node based on receiving information regarding device proximity to the femto node, or a device can generate proximity indication messages base on measuring the beacon signals, etc.

摘要： Techniques are described herein for coordinating a random access channel (RACH) procedure with a beam discovery procedure. A timing and configuration of a RACH window may be coordinated with a beam discovery window. By coordinating the two windows, a user equipment (UE) may be configured to use information learned from the beam discovery procedure during the RACH procedure, thereby increasing the likelihood that the RACH procedure is successful. In some cases, the RACH procedure is triggered by the transmission of directional beam reference signals during the beam discovery window. In such cases, the UE determines the timing of the RACH window based at least in part on the receipt of the directional beam reference signals. In some cases, the RACH window is configured using a static configuration relative to the beam discovery window.

A base station may select a beam monitoring pattern for transmitting control channel transmissions, which may include a pattern in which two or more beams are used for control channel transmissions. In the event that a first beam of the beams used in the beam monitoring pattern meets certain metrics, the use of one or more additional beams according to the beam monitoring pattern may be overridden and transmissions continued using the first beam. The metrics for continuing use of the first beam may include channel quality metrics, a number of consecutive successful transmissions using the first beam, one or more other metrics, or any combination thereof.

The base station may determine a contention exempt transmission (CET) period for the shared spectrum band and transmit the DRS using multiple transmission beams during CET period or the base station may perform a listen before talk (LBT) procedure, and transmit, based on the LBT procedure, the DRS over a shared radio frequency spectrum band. The base station may transmit an indication of the type of DRS transmission, a subframe offset, random access configurations, and/or error correcting codes to enable a user equipment to discover, connect to, and acquire timing information associated with the network.
