    • The present invention relates to a method for checking the channel quality information (CQI) of a portable Internet system, and a base station supporting same. According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided is a method for checking channel quality information received from a terminal, including the steps of: checking the information type contained in the channel quality information received at a predetermined frame cycle from the terminal, and checking whether a base station and the terminal support services of the information type; checking whether the received channel quality information satisfies channel quality information report regulations according to the characteristics of the information type, if the base station and the terminal support services of the information type; and applying the received channel quality information to the system if the channel quality information report regulations are satisfied, and discarding the received channel quality information if the channel quality information report regulations are not satisfied.
