    • In accordance with the example embodiments of the invention there is a method and apparatus to perform at least configuring signaling comprising at least one logical channel, wherein the at least one logical channel comprises at least one of a Wake-Up signal sequence and a Go-To-Sleep signal sequence to indicate an occurrence or anon- occurrence of a paging request associated with an upcoming paging occasion to be checked by a network device; and sending the signaling comprising the at least one logical channel toward a network device in a communication network, wherein the signaling is configured to enable decoding the at least one of the Wake-Up signal sequence and the Go-To-Sleep signal sequence in the at least one logical channel by network devices that are not configured to detect the indication of the occurrence or the non-occurrence of the paging request. Further, to perform receiving by at least one network device of a plurality of network devices in a communication network signaling comprising at least one logical channel using at least one of a Wake-Up signal sequence and a Go-To-Sleep signal sequence to indicate an occurrence or a non-occurrence of a paging request to be checked bythe at least one network device, wherein the at least one of the Wake-Up signal sequence and the Go-To-Sleep signal sequence is for use by the at least one network device to determine to enter an energy saving sleep mode or to leave at the upcoming paging occasion an energy saving sleep mode to receive the paging request, and wherein the signaling is configured to enable detection of the at least one logical channel by the at least one network device without channel decoding of the at least one of the wake-up signal sequence and the go-to-sleep signal sequence in the at least one logical channel.
