    • There is provided a timing entity (108) for a communication network (100} which includes a base station (102) and a user equipment (104) capable of communicating with each other over at least two carriers which have different temporal configuration of its uplink and downlink resources. The timing entity (108) comprises a control entity (10) adapted for determining timing data (120) defining a timing of a control signalling transmission (112) which is related to a data transmission (114) on a first carrier and which uses a resource of a first type on the second carrier. According to an embodiment the timing data (120) specify for the control signalling transmission (112) a time slot in which there is available a resource of the first type on the second carrier (132) for the control signalling transmission (112). The control entity (108) may be implemented in a base station (102} and/or a user equipment (104).

    • The present invention proposes a terminal device comprising a control module configured to provide for a cell access procedure for the device, and comprising a transceiver module, which under control of the control module, is configured to search a core-subband of a first bandwidth on which a network transceiver device transmits and receives information, the network transceiver device being capable of transmitting and receiving information over a second bandwidth greater than the first bandwidth, and perform an initial random access procedure to said network transceiver device within said core- subband, wherein control information and control channels associated to said search and initial random access procedure are constrained within the core-subband, inform the network transceiver device of bandwidth capabilities of the device, and receive configuration information pertaining to a working-subband for the device, the working-subband being defined by a third bandwidth corresponding to the bandwidth capabilities of the device, the third bandwidth being smaller than or equal to the second bandwidth, and a central frequency of said working-subband.     • There are provided measures for common control deactivation in carrier aggregation, said measures exemplarily comprising a configuration of a secondary carrier for carrier aggregation with a primary carrier of a terminal, including a deactivation of a common control for the secondary carrier, an indication of the deactivation of the common control for the secondary carrier via the primary carrier, and a signaling of control information, substituting control information of the deactivated common control, for facilitating selection of or operation on the secondary carrier without the deactivated common control via the primary carrier from a base station to the terminal. Said measures may exemplarily be applied for common control deactivation in carrier aggregation in hetero- geneous network environments based on LTE, LTE-Advanced, HSPA and/or UMTS radio access systems.
