A wide area cell of a wide area overlay macro communication network transmitting the highest signal strength is identified. Further, a communication resources configuration used in a transmission of the wide area cell is identified. Based thereon, a communication resources configuration for use in a local area cell using a same access protocol as the wide area cell can then be determined such that it is determined different from the communication resources configuration used in the transmission of the wide area cell so that interference between the transmission of the wide area cell and a transmission of the local area cell is reduced.
