摘要： This invention describes a method for a cell reselection by a mobile station from a serving GERAN cell supported by a GSM/EDGE (global system for mobile communications/enhanced data rates for GSM evolution) radio access network (GERAN) to a UTRAN cell supported by a universal terrestrial radio access network (UTRAN). According to a first embodiment of the invention, the intended intersystem reselection behavior is reached without signaling changes. This can be a preferred mode for early implementations because signaling changes always take a longer time to reach the products on the field (both mobile and network updates are normally required). According to a second embodiment of the invention, the flexibility of signaling changes is used for an advantage.

摘要： A UE performs pilot measurements over a frequency sub-band of a serving cell and adjacent cells based on pilot symbols. In an interference coordination scheme, the UE is classified into a cell edge or a cell center UE based on a channel quality measurement. For downlink data reception, the UE in the cell edge is allocated a cell edge sub-band and the UE in the cell center is allocated a cell center sub-band. If the UE is in the cell edge of the serving cell, the UE performs pilot measurement over the cell edge sub-band of the serving cell and the cell edge sub-band of adjacent cells. If the UE is in the cell center, the UE performs pilot measurement over the cell center sub-band of the serving cell. When the UE is in the cell edge, it performs measurement at a higher rate than when it is in the cell center.

摘要： A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided that improve mobility procedures between base stations based on rules configurable by the operator that govern both the mobile terminal and the base stations. A method is provided in which a mobile terminal obtains system information from a neighboring base station. The system information is stored at the mobile terminal such that the mobile terminal may thereafter participate in a handover or reselection to a respective neighboring base station at least partially based upon the stored system information, typically without further verification of the system information. If desired, the mobile terminal can further determine if one or more predefined validity criterion is met with respect to the stored system information. If the predefined validity criterion is not met, the mobile terminal can then obtain system information, e.g., updated system information, from the neighboring base station.

摘要： This invention describes a method for a new methodology for improving a high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) transport format allocation in communication systems (e.g., mobile phone networks) using, e.g., a network element such as a node B. As CQI (channel quality indicator) reports made by a user terminal are time stamped in a sense that they correspond to a given reference period, the Node B is able to determine what time instant in the past the given CQI report corresponds to. As the Node B scheduler knows a history of HS-DSCH transmission, it is able to determine how much HS-DSCH power was transmitted during the time corresponding to the received CQI report. Based on this information, it determines the bias required to the CQI reports received at different times to improve an accuracy of the allocated HS-DSCH transport format.

摘要： The use of the STTD is enabled in a network so that the common channels (CPICH etc.) do not need to be transmitted using transmit diversity, but the STTD can be enabled only for channels having dedicated pilots and which are intended for the UEs supporting this functionality. Other UEs not supporting transmit diversity can use the common channels as usual. In normal transmit diversity operation the UE will use the CPICH transmitted from both antennas as a phase reference. In the proposed method some of the common channels including CPICH are transmitted without transmit diversity even though the STTD is used on channels having dedicated pilots and which are intended for the UEs supporting this functionality.

摘要： Mobility in E-UTRAN might not rely on neighbor cell list. In such a case, the user equipment (UE) may be responsible for finding cells and reporting to the network. Consequently signaling load may be increased and also handover (HO) performance can be degraded for the cases in which the target cell proposed by the UE is not good. Certain embodiments of the present invention give the operator some control of the signaling load and HO performance by providing a list of forbidden cells with regard to which the UE does not have to search and report.
