    • The invention relates to a method of providing a rubber material from a rubber containing waste material. The method comprises the step of subjecting the waste material to a treatment with an extraction solvent in a reactor at a pressure above atmospheric pressure, wherein the extraction solvent comprises an effective amount of carbon dioxide. The extraction may be performed in one or more dynamic and/or one or more static steps, to provide a sufficient extraction without damaging the material. The rubber containing waste material may further be subjected to an impregnation step, which may be performed simultaneously with the extraction step, after the extraction step or overlapping with the extraction step. The invention also relates to a rubber material comprising low amounts or is essentially free of alkylated aromatic oils and heavy metals in the form of inorganic and organic salts.

    • The invention relates to a drug delivery device comprising a polymeric matrix and a drug distributed within the matrix. The device is essentially free of solvents in particular organic solvents for the drug. The polymer matrix may be one polymer a mixture of polymers layers of polymer or an IPN. The polymer matrix may comprise a material gradient, which results in a gradual loading of the drug and thereby a desired release profile for administration of drug can be obtained. Preferred polymer matrixed includes silicone, PTFE, bioabsorble materials, and IPNs. The drug delivery device may e.g. be a device adapted to be applied in contact with the human body. Preferred applications includes baby nipples, catheters and shunts, drug delivery patches, wound care products, surgical films, condoms and prophylactic devices, contact lenses, ophthalmologic devices, passive and active implants and diagnostic devices. The drug delivery device is produced by loading a polymeric matrix with a drug using a drug carrier, in the form of a gas, a supercritical, a high pressure liquid, or a dense gas-like fluid. Preferred drug carrier includes CO 2 in liquid and/or supercritical state.
