摘要： A catheter and catheter system can use energy tailored for remodeling and/or removal of target material along a body lumen, often of atherosclerotic material of a blood vessel of a patient. An elongate flexible catheter body with a radially expandable structure may have a plurality of electrodes or other electrosurgical energy delivery surfaces to radially engage atherosclerotic material when the structure expands. An atherosclerotic material detector system may measure and/or characterize the atherosclerotic material and its location, optionally using impedance monitoring.

摘要： Apparatus, systems, and methods are provided for the generation and control of energy delivery in a dosage to elicit a therapeutic response in diseased tissue. A balloon catheter can have electrodes attached to a power generator and controller such that the balloon and electrodes contact tissue during energy treatment. Energy selectively may be applied to tissue based on measured impedance to achieve gentle heating. Calibration of the apparatus and identification of attached accessories by computing the circuit impedance prior to energy dosage facilitate regulation of power delivery about a set point. Energy delivery can be controlled to achieve substantially uniform bulk tissue temperature distribution. Energy delivery may beneficially affect nerve activity.

摘要： Systems for characterizing tissue comprise: a tissue probe comprising a plurality of probe electrodes; a signal generator, a controller, and a user interface. The signal generator is in communication with the probe electrodes for delivering a drive signal to at least one probe electrode. The controller receives a recorded signal from one or more probe electrodes, the recorded signal resulting from delivery of the drive signal through tissue proximate the plurality of probe electrodes. The controller is configured to determine patient-to-patient differences when the tissue probe is proximate a known type of patient tissue and/or bodily fluid, and it produces tissue characterization information based on the recorded signal and the patient-to-patient differences. The user interface provides the tissue characterization information to an operator of the system. Methods of characterizing tissue are also provided.

摘要： Apparatus, systems and methods for reducing feedback in a hearing aid that includes a transducer configured to detect sound, a sound processor configured to process signals from the transducer, a receiver configured to receive signals outputted from the sound processor, and an acoustic feedback reduction system. The acoustic feedback reduction system is configured to provide signals to the sound processor to produce a null targeting signal steerable toward a source of feedback. Securing mechanisms for space access devices, such as an audio signal transmitting device, include a plurality of outwardly projecting members that are configured to transition from a relaxed state to a securing state when the space access device is inserted into an internal space or opening that has an inside diameter smaller than an outside diameter of the outwardly projecting members in the relaxed state. The outwardly projecting members securely engage a surface of the internals space, conform to the shape and size of the internal space, and modulate at least one of the attenuation and frequency of audio signals and/or differentially acoustically impede audio signals transmitted through the securing mechanism and/or internal space and the space access device, without fully occluding the internal space.
