摘要： The invention relates to a streamer ball 10 for use in tennis-type bat and bouncing ball games played with bats having rigid, untensioned ball-striking surfaces and comprises an impact body 12, a tail 14 and a spacer stem 16. The impact body comprises a hemispherical front compression body part 24 including a resiliently compressible frontal impact zone; and a hemispherical rear ballast body part 26. The spacer stem includes a stem formation 17, an anchor formation 28 embedded in the rear ballast body part 26 and an attachment formation 32 for the tail comprising elongate streamers which extend rearwardly from the spacer stem in flight. The rear ballast body part has a greater density than that of the front compression body part and the combined mass of the rear ballast body part and the spacer stem provides ballast rearwardly of the front compression body part providing for adequate compression of the frontal impact zone upon impact.

摘要： A streamer ball (10) for use in bat and ball type games, comprises an impact body (12), a tail formed of flexible streamers and a spacer stem (16) having the tail attached thereto. The impact body (12) comprises a hemispherical front body part (18) and a frusto-conical rear body part (20) which are glued to one another along a joint plane (22). The rear body part (20) tapers rearwardly from the front body part which includes a resiliently compressible frontal impact zone which can be struck by a bat. The rear body part defines spaced circumferential grooves 25.1 and 25.2. The teardrop shape of the impact body provides the ball with a streamlined profile which reduces the effect of turbulence at the trailing end of the impact body rendering the ball suitable for use in windy conditions. The teardrop profile also causes the impact body to quickly turn over and stabilize in flight after impact by a bat.

摘要： An improved anchor fitting (10) for anchoring a tether cord (22) to a hollow ball (12). The anchor fitting (10) includes an anchor body (16) comprising a shank portion (18) and a head (20) at one end of the shank portion. The anchor body is received in a hole (14) in the wall of the ball and defines an axial passage through which the tether cord extends. The anchor fitting includes two rigid shoulder-defining bodies (26) and (28) which are located within the ball and which extend perpendicularly relative to one another when assembled. The shoulder-defining bodies define holes in which the shank portion of the anchor body is received, with the head (20) abutting an inner side of the shoulder- defining body (28). A flexible resilient rubber washer (34) is located between the shoulder- defining bodies and an interior side of the wall for absorption of impact forces acting on the wall of the ball when the ball is struck by a bat.
