摘要： An illuminated toy construction kit (10) includes a plurality of illumination modules (12) having various shapes and sizes, and a plurality of non-illumination modules having different shapes and sizes. Each of the illumination modules (12) includes at least one light-emitting element (36), such as a color-varying LED. At least some of the non-illumination modules are in the form of couplers (14) which function as mechanical linkages for interconnecting the illumination modules (12) and enabling a user to form a variety of three-dimensional structural shapes. The couplers (14) also function to transmit electric power between the interconnected illumination modules (12), whereby all of the interconnected modules (12) may be simultaneously illuminated in response to the activation of a single power source (PS) connected to at least one of the illumination modules (12).

摘要： An amusement device (10) includes a housing (20) and a light unit (40) positioned on the housing (20). A mounting ring (24) is rotatably positioned on the housing (20), encircling the light unit (40). The amusement device (10) also includes an inner cover (14) sized and shaped so as to be mounted on the mounting ring (24) for rotation therewith. The inner cover (14) has a first hemispherical surface (60) adapted for covering the light unit (40) and for placement of markings thereon. The amusement device further includes an outer cover (16) sized and shaped so as to be mounted in a stationary location on the housing (20). The outer cover (16) has a second hemispherical surface (66) adapted for covering the inner cover (14) and for placement of markings thereon. The light unit (40) is adapted to illuminate the inner and outer covers (14, 16) and any markings placed thereon. A motor unit (52) is positioned in the housing (20) for rotating the mounting ring (24), while a control unit (34) is positioned in the housing (20) and adapted to actuate the motor unit (34) such that the inner cover (14) is rotatable relative to the outer cover (16) upon actuation of the motor unit (34), whereby any markings placed on the inner cover (14) are rotatable relative to any markings placed on the outer cover (16).

摘要： A module (10) for a toy construction kit includes an elongated, monolithic body (12) made from a non-magnetic material and having a central section (18), a pair of opposed ends (14,16), and a pair of tapered neck sections (24, 26), one of which is positioned between the central section and one end of the body and the other of which is positioned between the central section and the other end of the body. One end of the body is at least partially covered by a pair of dome-shaped shells (32, 32) positioned on opposed sides thereof. The other end of the body is at least partially covered by another pair of dome-shaped shells (42, 42) positioned on diametrically opposed sides thereof. Each one of the shells is made from a magnetic material and is provided with a receptacle (34, 44) for receiving a plug (40, 50) of the non-magnetic material which forms a corresponding end of the body to thereby secure the shells to the body when the body and shells are integrated by way of a co-molding process.
