摘要： A method of and system for digital rights management, in which access to a piece of content is granted in accordance with a license owned by a license owner to a client who is a member of a domain. This requires successfully verifying that a membership relation exists between the client and the domain as reflected in a first state variable, and that an association relation exists between the license owner and the domain as reflected in a second state variable. Both relationships are revoked by executing an online protocol between the parties in the relationship after which both remove the corresponding state variable. The domain controller propagates the state administration relating to the domain is propagated to the client so that the client can update its state administration.

摘要： A method of validating an access operation to content on a device, comprising evaluating a license associated with the content, characterized by further evaluating a ruleset applicable to the content and validating the access operation only if the license and the ruleset both permit the access operation. The license may indicate the ruleset. Alternatively the ruleset applicable to the content may be determined by determining a characteristic of the content and selecting the ruleset based on the determined characteristic. The characteristic preferably is one of: a type of the content, a source of the content, a classification of the content. In an embodiment one or more links are evaluated which associate a person and/or the device to an authorized domain and a link associating the ruleset to the authorized domain is evaluated as well. Also a system configured for executing the method.

摘要： A network (100) comprises a control device (107) having an authorization group processor (301) which determines permission settings for authorization groups for a plurality of devices. A receive processor (309) receives an access permission request for a first device (109) accessing a second device (101) and a group processor (311) associates the first device (109) with a first group of the authorization groups in response to a user input from a user interface (303). A permission processor (313) retrieves the permission settings for the first group and these are communicated to the second device (101) by a transmit processor (315). The second device (101) then controls access by the first device (109) in accordance with the first permission settings. The invention provides improved and facilitated access control in networks such as Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) networks.
