摘要： A multi-function headset is disclosed. The multi- function headset includes an ear shell attached to one end of a holding means the ear shell comprising a speaker unit through which audio stimulus is provided to a user, a microphone attached on a first end of a boom assembly and engaging an engagement switch on a second end of said boom assembly with the ear shell, the engagement switch position selecting an application of the head set. In another aspect of the invention, the ear shell further comprises a first switch engaging the boom assembly when the boom assembly is in a retracted position. In another embodiment of the invention, a headset including an ear shell attached to one end of a holding means is disclosed. The ear shell comprising a speaker unit through which audio stimulus is provided to a user, and means for adjusting a volume through the speaker unit wherein the means is selected from the group consisting of: pressure determining sensors and switches.

摘要： Disclosed is an audio system having at least one earpiece for transducing audio, wherein a first earpiece of the at least one earpiece has force-wire controller (103) for receiving input to control the transducing. The force-wire controller (103) includes a touch sensing unit (104) and a pressure sensor unit (105). The touch-sensing unit (104) is integrated into a portion of an audio wire, functioning as capacitive antenna. The touch-sensing unit (104) reacts to the touch of a users hand. The pressure sensor registers a pull action. Only when both the touching by the users hand and the pulling is sensed will the system respond with control actions. Interaction with the wires (107) attached to the earpieces is thus used to control a portable device.

摘要： A system (800), apparatus (700), and method are provided to select a best set of TV programs for reception and recording by at least one tuner, said TV programs being broadcast over a set of channels during a given time period [b, e] having a beginning time b and an ending time e. Partial and entire TV programs are considered and for each partial or entire TV program a user preference value is provided for its reception and recording. Further, pre-rolls and post-rolls are included in order to insure that partial TV programs are entirely received. A minimum-cost network algorithm is used that solves the selection and viewing problem but is not necessarily optimal. Additional time is allowed, before or after reception of a part of a TV program, to ensure that the entire part of the TV program has been received.

摘要： A user interface concept for wireless ad hoc content sharing between portable devices referred to as portable content containers (PCCs). A user-centered design approach is provided enabling users to share content such as music and photos. A variety of physical ways of establishing a secure connections between the PCC devices is provided. In addition, a clear view on the location of the content stored on the devices, and a drag & drop interface is provided. Use is made of separate spaces, each containing the corresponding content and includes a "shared" space such that all connected users may transfer content to and from to their own personal devices. The use of a drag & drop interface in combination with the subdivision of the screen into several spaces, provided the user with a clear view on the content location. The close proximity of users is assumed and enhances social interaction.
