摘要： A method for driving a light source (11, 12, 13) is described, wherein the light source is alternately switched ON and OFF in an ON/OFF pattern, wherein the duty cycle of the ON/OFF pattern is varied to vary the average light intensity of the light source, and wherein the shape of the ON/OFF pattern is varied to transmit data. Thus, a control signal for the light source comprises data information as well as duty cycle information. The duty cycle is varied within a range from almost zero to almost 100%, and data is varied and transmitted without affecting the duty cycle.

摘要： A method and arrangement for detecting a watermark in an information signal is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of computing (24-28, 30) the correlation (dk) of said watermark (Wi) and said information signal (e.g. an image Q) for a plurality of positions (k) of said watermark with respect to said information signal, and detecting (29) whether at least one of the respective correlation values exceeds a given threshold. The step of detecting (29) comprises determining the standard deviation ( sigma d) of the respective correlation values (dk), and setting the threshold to a given multiple (T) of said standard deviation. The multiple (T) is derived from a desired false alarm rate (watermark detected when there is none, or no watermark detected when there is one).

摘要： A digital media recorder and a method of controlling such is shown. During attempts to copy media content such as audio or a video sequences, sub-sequences are extracted from an input media sequence. A digital fingerprint of the sub-sequence is calculated and compared with at least one first reference fingerprint from a database. The outcome of the comparison determines the action to take in the further processing. Recording of the input media sequence on the media carrier is either allowed or obstructed, e.g. disallowed. In the case recording of the sequence is allowed, the database is updated with information that the digital media sequence has been recorded. This has the effect of a "speed bump," which limits the rate at which those copies of media content can be made, i.e. the effect is that of prohibiting more than a given number of copies within a given time frame.

Each lighting unit comprises a lighting source (12) and a modulated light source (14). A single light source may be used to function as both the lighting source and the modulated light source. The sensing device is suitable to sense modulated light in a viewing area. Lighting units from which the sensing device senses modulated light are identified from the modulation of that modulated light. The sensing device measures the intensity of the modulated light from the identified lighting unit. 摘要： Recent copy-protection schemes for digital video copy-protection rely on a pixel-watermark together with the presence of a "ticket" to implement the "copy-once" state of content. This ticket is designed to entitle the owner of a disk/tape to making one copy of digital content. We disclose a method to pass along this ticket with the video signal after content has been converted to the analog domain. This form of the ticket is called the analog ticket. The analog signal may be recorded on a legacy device that does not comply with the copy-protection scheme (e.g. ordinary VCRs). The analog ticket is designed such that it is automatically removed in these legacy devices. Next generation copies by compliant devices are made impossible. Three possible ways of embedding the ticket signal into the analog video signal are proposed.
