摘要： The present invention is related to a method of activating multiple bearer services in a long term evolution (LTE) wireless communication system including multiple bearers. At least one of the multiple bearers is activated during initial attach procedures which combine an attach procedure with activate packet data protocol (PDP) context activation procedures. In one embodiment, LTE attach procedures are implemented for multi-bearer services activation that establishes an LTE direct general packet radio service (GPRS) tunneling protocol (GTP) tunnel or normal GTP two-tunnels operation. In another embodiment, the initial attach procedures are used to activate a default PDP context to be followed by modified PDP context activation procedures for multi-bearer services activation. These procedures can be used to establish a modified LTE direct GTP tunnel or a normal GTP two-tunnels operation.

摘要： A method and apparatus for executing attachment procedures in a long term evolution (LTE) system to accommodate a single tunnel approach. Third Generation Partnership Program (3GPP) packet data protocol (PDP) context activation procedures are used for the allocation of an Internet protocol (IP) address and the establishment of tunneling between an evolved Node-B (eNodeB) and an anchor node, while allowing multiple radio access bearers (RABs) to be mapped to one PDP context for different quality of service (QoS) requirements. Thus, one PDP context is sufficient for a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) within a single packet data network (PDN). Multiple PDP contexts can be established for special requirements, (e.g., bundled services), or when the WTRU connects to multiple PDNs.

摘要： In a wireless communications system including a third generation partnership project (3GPP) long term evolution (LTE) network, at least one alternative wireless network, and a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the 3GPP LTE network sends an indication of the availability of the alternative network or a list of available alternative networks in an area where the WTRU is located. The WTRU receives the information and initiates a handover procedure to the alternative wireless network based on the information. The WTRU may request a list of alternative wireless networks from the 3GPP LTE network, or may send capability information to the 3GPP LTE network. The alternative wireless network may be a 3GPP network, an interworking wireless local area network (I-WLAN), or a fixed broadband network.

摘要： A serving radio network subsystem (SRNS) relocation method is implemented in a wireless communication system. When an old serving general packet radio service (GPRS) support node (SGSN) indicates that a source RNC requires SRNS relocation, the new SGSN sends a relocation request message to a target RNC indicating a single tunnel operation, a tunnel endpoint identity (TEID) of a gateway GPRS support node (GGSN), the identification number of a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and the packet data protocol (PDP) address of the WTRU. The new SGSN sends an update PDP context request message to the GGSN indicating a single tunnel operation and the target RNC TEID. The GGSN updates a binding of the target RNC TEID with the WTRU PDP address and the identification number. A new tunnel is established between the target RNC and the GGSN, and an old tunnel between the source RNC and the GGSN is released.

摘要： A method and apparatus for supporting routing area (RA) update in a long term evolution (LTE) general packet radio service (GPRS) tunneling protocol (GTP)-based system are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) sends an RA update request to a new evolved Node-B (eNodeB) and a mobility management entity (MME). The MME sends an update packet data protocol (PDP) context request to an access gateway (AGW), whereby a new tunnel is established between the new eNodeB and the AGW. For an inter-MME routing area update, the WTRU sends an RA update request to a new eNodeB and a new MME. The new MME sends an MME context request to an AGW. The AGW sends an MME context response to the new MME. The new MME sends an update PDP context request to the AGW, whereby a new tunnel is established between the new eNodeB and the AGW.

摘要： A method and system for supporting an evolved universal mobile telecommunication systems (UMTS) terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) are disclosed. The system includes a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), a UTRAN and an E-UTRAN. The UTRAN sends to the WTRU a list of available radio access technologies in a coverage area of the UTRAN. The list includes information related to the E-UTRAN. The WTRU receives the list and may initiate a handoff based on the list. The WTRU then sends its multi-mode/multi- RAT capability information including the E-UTRAN capability to the UTRAN. The UTRAN then sends a measurement capability message to the WTRU. The measurement capability message includes parameters necessary for performing measurements on an E-UTRAN channel. The WTRU performs measurements based on the measurement capability message and reports measurement results to the UTRAN. The UTRAN may initiate a handoff to the E-UTRAN based on the measurement results.

The CN then updates the WTRU capabilities based on the first message. The first message may include a radio access capability information element (IE) which carries information related to E-UTRAN capabilities of the WTRU and/or a network capability IE which carries information regarding network capabilities of the WTRU. The CN sends a second message to the WTRU to report network capabilities with respect to the radio access networks (RANs) to which the core network is connected and services that can be provided over the E-UTRAN.
