    • A serving radio network subsystem (SRNS) relocation method is implemented in a wireless communication system. When an old serving general packet radio service (GPRS) support node (SGSN) indicates that a source RNC requires SRNS relocation, the new SGSN sends a relocation request message to a target RNC indicating a single tunnel operation, a tunnel endpoint identity (TEID) of a gateway GPRS support node (GGSN), the identification number of a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and the packet data protocol (PDP) address of the WTRU. The new SGSN sends an update PDP context request message to the GGSN indicating a single tunnel operation and the target RNC TEID. The GGSN updates a binding of the target RNC TEID with the WTRU PDP address and the identification number. A new tunnel is established between the target RNC and the GGSN, and an old tunnel between the source RNC and the GGSN is released.

    • A method and system for reporting evolved universal mobile telecommunication systems (UMTS) terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) capabilities are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) sends a first message to a core network (CN) to report the E-UTRAN capabilities of the WTRU. The CN then updates the WTRU capabilities based on the first message. The first message may include a radio access capability information element (IE) which carries information related to E-UTRAN capabilities of the WTRU and/or a network capability IE which carries information regarding network capabilities of the WTRU. The CN sends a second message to the WTRU to report network capabilities with respect to the radio access networks (RANs) to which the core network is connected and services that can be provided over the E-UTRAN.
