In order to improve the acoustics and manufacture of the sound absorber, spot or linear welds (9, 9') are arranged between the chamber walls (6, 6', 5, 5') of the structure (3) and the bottom (3), in the area of the hollow chambers (4), and all hollow chambers (4) of the sound absorber (1) belong to a common, closed interior space enclosed between the structure and the bottom (3).
