    • Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for security-based slice selection and assignment. A network device may receive, from a WTRU, an attach request message that includes a requested SDD associated with an application. The requested SDD may indicate a service flow requirement. The network device may determine an offered SDD. The offered SDD may satisfy the service flow requirement in the requested SDD. The network device may assign a network slice to the WTRU, for example, based on the service flow requirement. The network device may assign the network slice to the WTRU based on the offered SDD being a match for the requested SDD. The offered SDD may be a match for the requested SDD when the offered SDD is tailored for the application. The network device may send, to the WTRU, a response message that indicates the assigned network slice.

    • It is recognized herein that the revolution of the 5G network business model and architecture introduces Network Infrastructure Security (NIS) as a critical aspect of a Network Slice (NS). Described herein is a systematic framework and approach that may be used to assess and measure the level of trust (or risk involved with regard to the various deployment models and services to be provided), and to aid secure delivery of the anticipated 5G services through slices, individual network functions, or traditional network infrastructure. Furthermore, the processes for deriving and measuring the level of trust takes into consideration the policy requirements from different stakeholders, and takes into consideration security attributes that are important to the stakeholder in evaluating the level of trust. It is recognized herein that the latter part may be critically important for 5G networks because much of the infrastructure might not be shared and not owned by the operators.
