摘要： An antenna for mobile communications comprises a plurality of first radiating elements arranged in a first column, and a plurality of second radiating elements arranged in a second column parallel to the first column. The antenna further includes an electrically conductive separator extending between the first radiating elements and the second radiating elements. The separator is located partly in one or more first gaps formed between at least some of the first radiating elements, wherein each of the first gaps is located next to one of the second radiating elements. The separator is also located partly in one or more second gaps formed between at least some of the second radiating elements, wherein each of the second gaps is located next to one of the first radiating elements. The antenna can thus have a desired horizontal beam width.

Such a dual band antenna element (10) allows for the construction of very compact antenna arrays (80) suita ble for multiple frequency bands.

The LB radiating elements may be operated as one LB array while the HB radiating elements may be operated as an even number of HB arrays. The HB radiating elements are arranged in multiple parallel columns and the LB radiating elements are distributed over two or more columns from the multiple parallel columns, wherein each LB radiating element is co-located with one of the HB radiating elements.
