摘要： Embodiments relate generally to methods, systems, and devices for monitoring and/or indicating the pressure levels within a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) (100). Applicants have found that incorporation of a transducer system (300) into a high-pressure hose (120) of an SCBA (100) may be beneficial to monitoring and indicating the pressure level of air within the SCBA (100), wherein the high-pressure hose (120) may be coupled to a pressure gauge (118) and optionally a warning whistle (119). In some embodiments, a transducer (300) may be operable to sense or detect the pressure of high-pressure air flowing through the transducer (300). Additionally, the transducer (300) may comprise a processor (510) operable to transmit signal referencing the pressure to a heads-up display device (HUD) (140), wherein the HUD (140) may indicate the pressure level to a user of the SCBA (100).

摘要： Embodiments relate generally to connectors for use with harness (308) and backplate systems (300) in an SCBA. An SCBA may comprise a backplate (306) for holding a cylinder of air and a harness with straps (310, 312) operable to attach to the backplate. Applicants have developed a bcckplate connector (340) that provides a reliable quick connection and disconnection for straps attached to a backplate. The connector may fit into a slot (320) on the backplate. In some embodiments, a plurality of connectors may be used to connect a plurality of straps to the backplate. Additionally, the connector may comprise a clip (603) or other attachment operable to secure one or more hoses (330) of the SCBA. This design may prevent the air hoses being hooked accidentally, and the attachment of the hoses may help to secure the connector into the slot of the backplate, reducing the change of the connector disconnecting during normal usage.

A method may comprise installing a speaker within an interior cavity of the face mask, wherein the speaker communicates with an electronics unit; installing a microphone within the interior cavity of the face mask, wherein the microphone communicates with the electronics unit; generating, by the speaker, a sound during the fit test; detecting, by the microphone, sound generated by the speaker during the fit test; comparing, by the electronics unit, a detected signal from the microphone to a baseline expected sound; when the detected signal is within a certain range of the baseline expected sound, indicating to the user that the fit test is completed and passed; and when the detected signal is not within a certain range of the baseline expected sound, indicating to the user that the fit test is completed and failed.
