摘要： This disclosure describes a control unit for a patient support, such as a mattress. One embodiment of the control unit includes a base portion and a display portion pivotably coupled to the base portion. The control unit may also include one or more communication ports for sending or receiving data from one or more remote devices over a network. The control unit may also include a memory port into which memory may be removably inserted. The control unit may also include a visual indicator configured to be activated by a triggering event, such as a patient exiting the mattress. The display unit may include a touchscreen user interface. The display unit may also be configured to display audiovisual material.

摘要： This disclosure describes certain exemplary embodiments of a patient support (10) having a plurality of vertically-oriented on substantially can-shaped inflatable bladders (50). In one embodiment, the patient support includes a plurality of pressure sensors (136) positioned underneath the bladders. In another embodiment, the patient support includes a support layer (20) positioned above the vertical bladders. In still another embodiment, the patient support includes one or more filler portions (80, 84, 86, 90) that are selectable so that the patient support may conform to bed frames having different deck configurations. In certain embodiments, a patient support having real time pressure control is provided. The patient support includes a plurality of sensors located beneath a bladder including a plurality of upright cylindrical elements. The pressure within the bladder is controlled based on the pressure or force sensed by the plurality of sensors. In certain embodiments, a lack of patient movement monitor and method is provided. The monitor and method patient support includes a plurality of sensors located beneath a patient support to determine movement of a patient. An alarm is activated when patient movement over time is determined to be lacking. The present invention also includes a pressure relief patient support (1010) for use in combination with a bed frame. The pressure relief support surface includes a plurality of layers of a three-dimensional fiber material (1302) positioned above a plurality of vertical air cells (50).

The bandage (10) is connectable to a vacuum source (14) and may include a flexible cover (18) positioned over the wound (12) and a collar coupled to the cover (18). The collar (20, 120) maybe coupled to the cover (18) and include a passageway (22) in communication with the port (92) of the cover (18). The passageway (22) is configured to receive at least a portion of a tube (24) in communication with the vacuum source (14). The bandage (10) may also include a sealer (82, 96) coupled to the collar (20, 120). The sealer (82, 96) may be configured to provide a substantially airtight seal between the tube (24) and the passageway (22) to create a sealed environment capable of maintaining a negative pressure between the cover (18) and the wound surface (13).
