摘要： Composites, methods, and systems for production of multi-color images which are developable at various wavelengths are disclosed and described. The color forming composite can include a first color forming layer having a first polymer matrix, a first color former, and a first developer where the first color former and the first developer can be in separate phases within the first color forming layer; a second color forming layer having a second polymer matrix, a second color former, and a second developer where the second color former and the second developer can be in separate phases within the second color forming layer; and at least one radiation absorber. The radiation absorber can be present in at least one of the first or second color forming layers. Additionally, the first color forming layer can have a first extinction coefficient that is higher than the second extinction coefficient of the second color forming layer.

摘要： A coating includes an antenna uniformly distributed and dissolved in both a matrix and a leuco dye phase of the coating. The antenna readily absorbs energy, which may be applied in particular patterns to the imaging materials. This absorbed energy heats the mixture, which causes the leuco dye and the activator to mix and react, causing the leuco dye to change color, thus producing a mark. A method for preparing an imaging material includes providing a powder having an activator and an antenna, dissolving the activator/antenna powder to form an activator/matrix pre polymer solution, providing a leuco dye alloy, and dispersing the leuco dye alloy into the activator/matrix pre polymer solution to form a radiation curable paste. An image recording medium includes a matrix having an antenna and an activator, and an alloy dispersed in the matrix as an independent phase. The alloy includes an antenna, a leuco dye, and an accelerator.

摘要： Compositions and methods for production of color images which are developable at sub-infrared wavelengths are disclosed and described. The color forming composition can include a polymer matrix having a color former phase adjacent to or dispersed within the polymer matrix. The color former phase can include a color former and an optional melting aid. Further, a radiation absorber can be admixed with or in thermal contact with the color former phase. The color forming composition can also be optimized for development using electromagnetic radiation having a development wavelength from about 300 nm to about 500 nm. The color forming compositions are useful in forming images on a wide variety of substrates such as optical disks.

摘要： Compositions and systems for production of color images with a fluoran leuco dye having a latent developer are disclosed and described. A color forming composition or composite can include a polymer matrix, a thermally modifiable fluoran leuco dye having a latent developer attached thereto, and a radiation absorber. The thermally modifiable fluoran leuco dye can be developable upon the color forming composition being contacted with electromagnetic radiation which causes the radiation absorber to become energized, so that the energized radiation absorber causes the latent developer to undergo rearrangement to produce an intermediate dye form having a phenolic substituent. The intermediate dye can then undergo an acid catalyzed ring opening to produce a colored dye form.

摘要： In an example of a method for three-dimensional printing, a first amount of a binding agent is selectively applied, based on a 3D object model, to individual build material layers of a particulate build material including metal particles to forming an intermediate structure. The binding agent and/or a void-formation agent is selectively applied, based on the 3D object model, to at least one interior layer of the individual build material layers so that a total amount of the binding agent, the void-formation agent, or both the binding agent and the void-formation agent in the at least one of the individual build material layers is greater than the first amount. This patterns an area that is to contain voids. The intermediate structure is heated to form a 3D structure including a void-containing breakable connection.
