摘要： The invention concerns a mobile floor-cleaning machine (1) with an integral dirt-collection chamber in which, when the machine is operating, an underpressure is generated by a suction fan integral with the floor-cleaning machine and into which a hose line (8) passes which is connected to a suction head (7) attached to the machine (1) close to the floor, the aim of the invention being to reduce significantly the effect of coarse dirt particles on the suction power andaction. This aim is achieved by virtue of the fact that a rake attachment (15) for coarse dirt particles, preferably in the form of a strip brush (18), which extends down to the floor, is fitted to the front of the suction head (i.e. the side facing in the direction of travel of the machine) a short distance (preferably 0.5 to 2 cm) in front of the suction head.

Carpets cleaned by this method exhibit a high and uniform degree of clean ness, together with a low tendency to become soiled again. The carpet is only slightly wetted and can therefore be walked on again after only a short time. The method is inexpensive and easy to carry out, and is intended for use in the industrial cleaning of carpets.
