    • A method for controlling flow and a chassis switch in a stack system are provided. The stack system includes multiple chassis, each of the multiple chassis includes a main control board and an interface board, traffic flow and control flow in each of the multiple chassis are independent of each other when each of the multiple chassis operates normally. In the method, when a main control board in a chassis in the stack system is unavailable, control flow to be transferred to a destination interface board is switched to a traffic flow channel corresponding to the destination interface board from a control flow channel, and the control flow is transmitted to the destination interface board through the traffic flow channel.

    • In an example, after receiving a first multicast packet from an underlay network, a virtual switch (vSwitch) determines a first virtual machine (VM) corresponding to a first underlay network multicast group identity and a first overlay network multicast group identity in the first multicast packet by using a category-1 entry, performs VXLAN decapsulation on the first multicast packet and sends the decapsulated first multicast packet to the first VM. After receiving a second multicast packet from a second VM, the vSwitch determines a second underlay network multicast group identity corresponding to a tenant ID of a tenant to which the second VM belongs and a second overlay network multicast group identity in the second multicast packet by using a category-2 entry, performs VXLAN encapsulation on the second multicast packet using the second underlay network multicast group identity, and forwards the encapsulated second multicast packet to the underlay network.
